Being a teenager is difficult. It is not always obvious what tools to use to handle dramatic changes in our lives or the daily challenges like schoolwork, community, and family. In Manual for Self-Care, students in Ms. Contreras' health class explore ways that they take care of themselves through all of life's stressors, trials and tribulations. Through prose, poetry, and journal entries students write about moments they've faced adversity and still managed to remain positive. Their stories are a guide for other students, a manual to learn from that gives out pointers on how to relieve stress. This collection features narratives in both English and Spanish, because stress can be translated into more than one language.
